Students entering in the Carpentry - Cabinetmaking Program are instructed in the safe and proper use of hand tool, portable power tools, and stationary power equipment. They are also instructed in layout, design, and various machining methods. These skills are then used to fabricate progressively more difficult projects, ultimately leading to the introduction of Computerized Numerical Controlled (C.N.C.) Training in the state-of-the-art Multi-Cam routers and the S.C.M.I. point-to-point machining center.

A portion of this program deals with the building of a house. Junior and senior students construct a residential home in one of the four member communities. Students are instructed in rough framing techniques, shingling, exterior finish, interior finish, as well as built-in cabinets and the installation of custom cabinetwork.

The House and Mill Carpentry program provides students with the skills necessary to compete in today's highly technical and demanding building trade industry.

Announcements
Diman students lend their talents to build trophy case for Holy Name School
As the students at the Holy Name School found glory, their rewards found a place atop a dusty bookshelf in the school’s library.

Lacking a proper location to display the trophies students won for everything from athletic to academic endeavors, Joe Shaker decided to do something. After discussing his idea with the school’s leadership, Shaker, whose daughter attends Holy Name, turned to Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School to see if its carpentry-cabinetmaking shop could lend a hand. With shop instructor Emanuel Botelho agreeing to help, the wheels, or more appropriately the saws, were in motion. Story continues.
Lower Highlands Sign
Diman's Carpentry Program, with assisting by the Drafting Program and Facilities Management Program, is pleased to have created and mounted a Lower Highlands sign in Fall River at the request of Mayor Will Flanagan. The sign was mounted on March 30, 2012.
